About Chalet de Paul et Marie ...
Chalet de Paul et Marie is one of a pair of newly-renovated 4-star semi-detached chalets close to the charming village of Manigod and just 1km from some great skiing at Croix Fry.
Set over three levels, it is ideal for families wishing to holiday together. Larger groups can also be accommodated by renting Chalet de Paul et Marie with the next door Chalet Lydie - together the two properties sleep up to 16 people comfortably.
Chalet Lydie has a large living area to accomodate everyone, and an extending table where larger groups can eat together. Access between the chalets is via the balcony off the main area - convenient for groups but if you only want to book one of the chalets, the access can be locked off and your privacy guaranteed.
The views from this south-facing chalet are incredible - from your terrace you can admire the stunning Aravis valley, framed by Etale, Sulens and Mont Charvin.
The property ...
Despite its traditional appearance from outside, Chalet de Paul et Marie's stunning contemporary interior is designed to make the most of the mountain views and light. Bleached woods and neutral tones perfectly complement faux fur and wool textiles and splashes of colour.
The property is set over two floors with access to a basement where you can store ski equipment or bikes.
The spacious open-plan living area is on the ground floor, with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. A large corner sofa and pouffes provide the perfect place to watch television or gather around the log burner, and sliding double doors open on to the balcony, which overlooks the valley. There's a double bedroom on this floor, as well as a toilet and a bathroom.
There are three more bedrooms upstairs, all of which have double beds or ziplink beds which can be made into twins. The two bedrooms at the front of the property open on to a balcony - the perfect place for your first morning coffee! There is a second bathroom and wc on this floor.
About the area ...
Skiers and boarders will love Chalet de Paul et Marie, which is just a few minutes’ drive from the lifts at Croix Fry. If you’d rather not take the car out, the ski bus stops just 100m from your door.
There’s an ESF ski school base at Croix Fry, where beginners can find their feet on the gentle nursery slopes. Those with more experience can ski here or explore the 220km of pistes between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, which are all covered by the Aravis ski pass. Competent skiers can even ski back to the chalet!
There are plenty of trails for cross-country skiers on the nearby Beauregard plateau, where you an also enjoy snow shoe trails, with views across to Mont Blanc.
If there are non-skiers in your party, they can enjoy heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools at La Clusaz as well as an ice-skating rink and cinema. You could also try dog-sledding, sleigh rides or the local specialty - paret sledging!
You’ll never be stuck for something to do in the Aravis valley in the summer.
There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau, the scene of the Resistance’s campaign against the German army in World War II. The ski lifts will take walkers or cyclists and their bikes up the mountains, so they can come down at their own pace, and adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of Manigod.
Via ferrata is another great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains secured to a harness. You’ll have plenty of experiences to share back at the chalet, perhaps over a beer and a barbecue on the terrace as the sun sets.
If you'd like to spend your next mountain holiday at Chalet de Paul et Marie, check the available dates on our calendar. If you need to check with the rest of your party we can hold the property for 24 hours. But don't wait any longer than that - we'd hate you to miss out on a great holiday!

The OVO Network Review
“Nature lovers, winter sports enthusiasts, summer guests, and families with young children will be happy...”
Chalet Paul et Marie is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom property for 8 with100m2 of floor space spread over 3 floors.
Larger groups of up to 16 can hire this recently renovated semi-detached chalet with it's sister chalet, Chalet Lydie. Combined the two 4 star properties have 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 200m2 of floor space. Both Chalet Paul et Marie and Chalet Lydie have Cool for kids status, meaning they have lots of extra equipment, much appreciated by families holidaying with young children. Guests staying in both chalets love the decor, layout, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and new bathrooms. The owners put a great deal of thought, effort, care and attention into providing all that their guests might require to enjoy a peaceful, calm holiday.
Nature lovers will be happy - the chalet overlooks a meadow below and is surrounded by trees and mountains, with walks from the front door, wildlife over the threshold and spectacular Alpine views.
Winter sports enthusiasts will be happy as the property is less than 1km away form the ski fields at La Croix Fry, with great ski links to La Clusaz. In fact when snow conditions are favourable, guests with the will and skill to try, can, in theory snow shoe, sledge or ski back to the chalet. Off piste and at their own risk of course!
Summer guests will be happy too - they can enjoy and appreciate the walking, cycling, wild life, flora and fauna spotting and via ferrata opportunities.
The chalet is a drive way from the nearest supermarket so stock up either in Thones (or Merdassier in season), before heading up to the chalet. There are several restaurants close by, and the local baker offers fresh bread deliveries. If you are planning a winter stay at Chalet Paul et Marie or Chalet Lydie, remember snow doesn't only fall on the pistes, it also falls on the roads and drives! Don't get caught out by arriving in a car which is not properly equipped for Alpine winter road conditions. The drive down to the chalet from the main road has been tarmaced to enable easier and more efficient snow clearing.
Chalet Paul et Marie welcomes pets, so the dog or cat can also enjoy the full on moiuntain experience too!

We love the peace and freedom of this chalet in the heart of nature
“ My grandmother Lydie inherited this chalet from her parents Louise and Constant.
After she retired, she loved spending every summer in the chalet, from June to mid-October, although it wasn't terribly comfortable. She came with her husband André, who was also born in Manigod.
My parents brought her groceries and supplies at weekends and I often spent my summer holidays here with my grandparents and my cousins.
When I married Paul, he also fell in love with the place. He enjoyed renovating the place with local craftsmen, bringing it up to a high level of comfort. Along with our two daughters, Céline and Aurélie, we spent our holidays here with family and friends, and they have kept the tradition up.
We love the peace and freedom of this chalet in the heart of nature, surrounded by mountains. We hope you will also have some wonderful moments here.

“A magnificent chalet close to the pistes”
A superb chalet above Manigod. Easy to find, and below the road, in the quiet. The view is breath-taking and we loved being close to the pistes. We had a really lovely week and we would love to come back.

“Lovely chalet and stunning views”
Great holiday and lovely chalet. Surprised at how high up we were so the views were fabulous.
Thank you for the wine, jam and pâté!
The chalet was spacious, clean, modern, and we enjoyed the location and the views.
We really loved the great scenery.

“Beautiful chalet, great service”
Great semi detached property with wonderful views over the Sulens range...
Perfect welcome and service, everything seems brand new, and there was a little present from the owners on arrival. We loved it !
Paul B. - 28/07/2018
The view is amazing and the chalet has enough space for 8 people.
Vincent T. - 14/07/2018
A super week with the family in this marvellous chalet, which has been beautifully renovated! Every comfort, just like at home ... but with the bonus of a stunning view!
Christine G. - 10/03/2018
“We will be back!”
A spacious chalet, which is modern and very clean, with an extraordinary view of the valley. A surprise was waiting for us when we arrived - a lovely bag with local organic jam, red wine and pâté. The view from the chalet is really unbelievable, and it's very peaceful. It's great being close to the ski station at Manigod, and the Balme area is a freeride paradise. Snow chains are strongly recommended in snowy weather. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Very nice holiday !!!

“An ideal location for family holidays with pets”
A comfortable semi-detached chalet which has been beautifully designed at the end of a sloping drive, ideal for holidays with two dogs and our family. The pluses included a breathtaking sunny view over the mountains and the peace and quiet. We really liked the variety of things to do: snowshoes, downhill and cross-county skiing ... Thanks to Sophie for her welcome, the services and her helpfulness. Chains highly recommended in this breathtaking area !

“Very nice week”
Your chalet is a lovely place to stay, with everything you need to feel at home, a superb view in good weather (we were lucky!). The rooms are bright, and we loved the superb bathrooms. We received a warm welcome from Sophie, the manager. We had a lovely week with the family with some lovely evenings playing games in front of the fire. My only advise : don't forget your snow tires and chains for your holiday in the mountains !
Florence F. - 20/01/2018

“A perfect holiday”
We had a great time with all the ingredients for a perfect holiday: the snow, a faultlessly clean chalet, the comfort, an amazing view, and the manager who was very passionate about his job!
We'll be delighted to come back!

“An exceptional chalet in a unique setting”
Your chalet is a little jewel in a marvellous mountain setting. A really lovely holiday.
Bruno T. - 19/08/2017
Close to slopes and easy to access. Perfect view. The parking spot was full of snow when we arrived and owner of chalet came and cleaned all snow even the road in front of the chalet. He was very kind and helpful.
Serkan T. - 11/02/2017
We have really had a great stay at your magnificent chalet. We wanted quiet, rest and a breath-taking view - job done. And on top of that, the weather was good too. The apartment was perfectly clean and well-equpped. Sophie gave us a great welcome. Just one problem that was out of your control - getting rid of rubbish is difficult as there is nowhere close. Congratulations and we wish you a good season. We will be sure to come back.
Thierry R. - 21/01/2017
We spent an unforgettable week in this very comfortable chalet. Nothing had been overlooked, it was so practical and the layout was well planned, with an exceptional open-plan kitchen and living room. The view is exceptional. We will be back.

“Everything we needed!”
An exceptional holiday in an extremely comfortable chalet and an enchanting environment. We got a lovely welcome. We really felt at home during our perfect fortnight! The decor, the cleanliness, the management, and the bedding, towels and tea towels provided, cleaning materials (although the chalet was spotless!), children's games, TV, wifi ... nothing was lacking!
Mélanie R. - 09/07/2016

“A wonderful week”
We have left a message in your guest book in the chalet, but we'd like to say again how glad we were that we chose your property. My children and grandchildren had a wonderful week, thanks to you. As well as enjoying the magnificent view, we reallly appreciated the comfort of Chalet Paul et Marie. Congratulations to the owners, who have decorated the chalet with taste, while still making it feel comfortable. Thank you also for leaving games in the chalet for the children. Well done again, and what a legacy for your two children. PS Sophie your manager was very efficient and very friendly.

“A real touch of class! ”
What a special treat this chalet was! Perfectly turned out and equipped. We spent a wonderful week here and all 8 of us were very comfortable. The view from the balcony is spectacular. We travelled to Merdassier each morning by bus for ski school and the area is breathtaking! We'd return in a heart beat.
Sally S. - 26/12/2015
“Well appointed with fabulous views!”
Chalet de Paul et Marie is a beautifully appointed chalet with fabulous views across the Manigod valley. It is well placed for accessing the ski runs at La Croix Fry, where ski hire is readily available, and there are well marked trails for those who prefer to snow shoe. An excellent local restaurant is within walking distance(Les Sapins). The delighful village of La Clusaz with its cafes and shops was only a bus ride away, ensuring that all our party were happy!
Sue D. - 19/12/2015
“A really lovely holiday. ”
There were three teenagers in our group and we had an extraordinary week. The sun was a little shy at the beginning of the week but wonderful after Wednesday. Even in the summer, we really loved the open fire. Congratulations, we will be back.
The C. - 15/08/2015
“Magnifique séjour d'hiver”
Un chalet idéalement placé avec une vue dégagée et splendide sur les montagnes et bénéficiant d’un ensoleillement exceptionnel ! Magnifique coucher de soleil. Chalet chaleureux, confortable et au calme. Les pistes de ski à moins de 5 minutes et de multiples activités nordiques comme le ski de fond et les randonnées en raquette sur le plateau de Beauregard avec une vue à 360 degrés !
Loïc B. - 27/12/2014
Set in one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys, the village of Manigod is a mountain secret that is a delight to discover. With its own ski area linking into the famed La Clusaz ski resort, Manigod offers fabulous skiing in winter and world class cycling in the summer.
Beautiful chalets are dotted around the mountains, restaurants range from local auberges to Michelin starred, and you can buy locally made pottery and cheeses fresh from the farm.
